Justina Eyakpobeyan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Tima Godbless of Team Nigeria finished sixth in heat 2 of the women’s 4x100m relay at the Paris Olympics.
Despite clocking a season’s best of 42.70s, they were denied an automatic spot in the final.

The second heat was won by the British quartet of Bianca Williams, Imani Lansiquot, Amy Hunt, and Desiree Henry, with France coming in second in 42.13s.
Jamaica placed third with a time of 42.35 seconds.
Similarly, Nigerian quartet of Favour Ashe, Kanyinsola Ajayi, Alaba Akintola and Usheoritse Itsekiri crashed out of the men’s 4x100m event.
Team Nigeria finished 7th with a Season’s Best of 38.20s which not enough to get them through to the fonal
However, South Africa grabbed an automatic spot in the final, finishing 2nd in a Season Best of 37.94s, with USA winning the race in 37.47s.
