Football Real Madrid Legend Pepe Retires From Football At 41

Real Madrid legend Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira, also known as Pepe, has officially announced his retirement from the sport on his Social Media.

Pepe is now 41 years old and his last match as a professional footballer was Portugal’s defeat to France in the past UEFA Euro played in Germany.

Pepe played for Real Madrid 10 seasons, being a key defender for the club during his prime and also one of the best defenders in world football.

He left the Spanish capital after the 2016-17 season, when he lost his spot as a starting center to Raphael Varane.Still, Pepe was able to reinvent himself and played for eight more years, two of them for Besiktas and six for FC Porto.

He won three Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, two Copas del Rey and 2 UEFA Supercup titles for Real Madrid, while also conquering the 2016 UEFA Euro for Portugal.
