Transfers DONE DEAL: Goalkeeper Michael Wanyika joins Mathare United

Mathare United have announced the acquisition of goalkeeper Michael Wanyika on a season-long deal.

The immediate former Ulinzi Stars custodian adds much-needed experience as we return to the Premier League after a season in the NSL. Wanyika has played in the topflight for the last 10 seasons since debuting for Thika United in the 2013/14 season.

Apart from Ulinzi Stars and Thika United, he has also lined up for Vegpro FC where he began his career as well as Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari FC.

At Bandari, he got his first taste of continental football when the coastal outfit qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2019/20 season.

The 32-year-old has also been in the frame for the national team Harambee Stars, earning several call-ups during Sebastian Migne’s tenure as head coach.
