Kylian Mbappe scored on his Real Madrid debut, helping his new team win a record sixth Uefa Super Cup with a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in Warsaw on Wednesday.
The superstar French attacker has waited years to play for his favourite club, and after signing for Los Blancos this summer at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, he scored on his debut appearance.
Fede Valverde scored from close range for the Champions League holders in the 59th minute, after the Italian Europa League winners held their own in the first half.

Madrid continued to create chances, and Mbappe scored in the 68th minute as Jude Bellingham spotted his run into space in the box, sealing the victory.
With Madrid’s victory, coach Carlo Ancelotti tied previous Los Blancos coach Miguel Munoz for the club’s joint-record 14 trophies.
This season, the Italian’s first duty is to develop a system that will maximise the performance of his attacking talents.
Mbappe started in the middle of Madrid’s front line, flanked by Vinicius Junior on the left and Rodrygo Goes on the right, in the first glimpse of how he might fit into Ancelotti’s plans for the season.

Mbappe’s first chance in a tight first half came in the 15th minute, but his drive from the centre of the box was comfortably saved by Isak Hien.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta, playing in their first Super Cup after defeating Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final last season, came close to grabbing the lead when Eder Militao headed Marten de Roon’s cross over his own goal.
Bellingham was cautioned for a late charge on Atalanta custodian Juan Musso during a move forward from midfield following a hard touch to control a beautiful ball from Vinicius.
Rodrygo clipped the top of Atalanta’s crossbar shortly before halftime after Vinicius set him up.
Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois, who was injured for most of last season, made a superb one-handed save to tip over a Mario Pasalic header at the start of the second half.
Madrid broke the deadlock before the hour mark when Valverde tapped home from close range, while Atalanta’s defence was concerned about Mbappe, who was moving more freely.
Bellingham, who was becoming increasingly influential, fed Vinicius, who cut the pass across the goal for the Uruguayan midfielder to tap in.
Vinicius should have doubled Madrid’s lead when he was passed through on goal, but Musso saved his shot.
As Madrid attempted a second goal, Swedish defender Hien blocked Bellingham, and Musso stopped the former Borussia Dortmund player.
Mbappe eventually delivered with a deadly finish after Bellingham kept an assault going and noticed the Frenchman’s excellent movement.
