African players abroad Salah Sets Another Premier League Record In Liverpool Win

Mohamed Salah continues to make Premier League history, as evidenced by his most recent performance in Liverpool’s opening-day victory over Ipswich.

Liverpool defeated the Premier League newcomers 2-0 on the first day of the season, with the Egypt international scoring and assisting. Salah assisted Diogo Jota’s opener for Liverpool before scoring to make it 2-0 on the Reds’ first away trip.

Salah’s goal according to Opta propelled him beyond Premier League stars Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney.

Salah’s assist and goal against Ipswich mean that the Liverpool star has either scored or assisted in all eight Premier League Matchday one games.

The 32-year-old Egyptian striker now has more goals (9) and goal contributions (14) than any other Premier League player.

Despite being under new management, Salah is anticipated to be among the top scorers in the 2024/25 Premier League season.
