French side Olympique Mareille confirmed Faris MOumbagna will undergo surgery after suffering a knee injury over the week-end against Brest in Ligue 1.
The 24-year old was a substitute in OM’s 5-1 win over their opponents in Roberto De Zerbi’s first Ligue 1 game in charge.
However, Moumbagna only spent few minutes on the field before being stretchred off with a knee.
“Faris Moumbagna, injured during the match against Stade Brestois last Saturday, suffers from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee”, the club statement reads.
“Surgery has been scheduled for this week. Olympique de Marseille wishes Faris a speedy recovery and hopes to see him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
