Kenya FKF SGM instrumental to set road map for elections and shouldn’t be stopped – Nyamweya

The Special Football Kenya Federation (FKF) General Meeting is a pivotal event in the governance of football in Kenya that has been set for Saturday August 24,202.

This meeting will serve as a platform to address critical issues affecting the sport and to set a clear roadmap for the long awaited elections.

The significance of allowing this SGM to proceed cannot be overstated, as it plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and democratic processes within Kenyan football.

One of the primary functions of the SGM is to establish governance structures that are essential for effective leadership in football. It provides an opportunity for stakeholders, including club representatives, officials, and other relevant parties, to come together and discuss key issues facing the sport.

This collective dialogue is vital for fostering unity and collaboration among different factions within Kenyan football. The SGM is instrumental in setting a clear roadmap for upcoming elections within the FKF.

This includes defining timelines, eligibility criteria for candidates, and procedures that need to be followed during the electoral process. Kenyan football has faced numerous challenges over recent years, including governance crises, financial mismanagement, and allegations of corruption.

FKF should ensure that the SGM comes up with an all inclusive election where all will be allowed to participate as longs as they meet the criteria. The registered County Football Associations (CFA) should be allowed to participate in the upcoming elections unconditionally.

They had applied for membership of the federation and were never admitted. If Kenyans have reservations on the electoral board then there is need to have a new electoral board that is transparent and accountable to ideals of the law and fairness. I call upon lovers of football to let the federation proceed with the SGM to set the ball rolling for the next elections.

Kenya needs to allow FKF President Nick Mwendwa and team to be allowed to kick start the process that has seen protracted court battles. Kenyans are tired of unending court battles and want to see football return to its former glory.

Let’s us allow the federation this opportunity to set the ball rolling for elections. If we don’t allow the SGM to go on then we risk attracting the wrath of the world football governing body FIFA. They may take very drastic measures that may jeopardise the country’s efforts to address football concerns.
