Former Sweden national team head coach Janne Andersson will reportedly be named new Nigeria Super Eagles head coach as Finidi George replacement.
The 61-year old took charge of Sweden national team from 2016 to 2023 and is jobless since.
According to Score Nigeria, he is the chosen one by Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for the coaching role at the helm of Super Eagles.
The news is welcomed with mixed reactions by fans as Janne Andersson never coached in African and will take over a national team who has just played an AFCON final and is having a disastrous campaign in 2026 World Cup qualifiers being 4th of its group after 4 games.
Andersson has reportedly been chosen ahead of french coach Herve Renard’s whose salary demands were too high for NFF.
