The coach of Nigeria’s Falconets, Christopher Danjuma, is upbeat about the team’s chances of winning the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
In an interview with FIFA media, Danjuma stated that the team is getting close to realising their dream.
The Falconets are among the teams that have participated in every competition since its founding, having advanced to the final twice in 2011 and 2015 and producing a number of elite players such as Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala.

Danjuma stated that it’s time for Africa to win the competition.
“I think we’re closing in on our goal. As Africans, we have a spiritual perspective.
“We are confident that now is the right time to emulate the opportunities and events of 2010 and 2014.
“I am certain Africa will stand at the top of the world for the first time”, he said.
Nigeria is grouped with the Korean Republic, Venezuela, and Germany—three-time champions.
