With a victory over recently promoted Southampton, Nottingham Forest achieved their first Premier League victory of the year.

Ola Aina and Joe Aribo, who both wanted to assist their sides win their first games of the season, started their second Premier League match this season.

Following his injuries in the first game against Bournemouth, Aina was able to play against Southampton after recovering from her wounds.

Forest narrowly defeated the Saints 1-0, and the defender was essential to Forest maintaining a clean sheet away from home.

After losing to Newcastle 1-0 in their opening Premier League game of the season, Southampton has not changed from that squad.

Joe Aribo, a star for the Super Eagles and Southampton, started for the Saints in his second consecutive Premier League game.

The Nottingham Forest team, which drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in their opening-day match on Saturday, saw two changes under Nuno Espirito Santo.

For the first time this season, Ola Aina was starting for Forest against his countryman Aribo.

Despite their intense beginnings, neither team was able to generate any good chances before halftime.

When the second half got underway, Nottingham Forest appeared to be playing with purpose as their daring attacks resulted in the game’s first goal.

After a half-cleared corner, Forest looped the pass back into the box, and Morgan Gibbs-White responded to poke in the loose ball after his feeble initial header was stopped.

After a subpar effort, Aribo was substituted in the second half and was replaced by Charlie Taylor.

While Southampton tried to pull even, Forest held strong, giving the Saints no opportunity and winning the crucial three points.
