Senegal defensive sensation Mikayil Faye completed a permanent move to French Ligue 1 side Rennes from La Liga giants FC Barcelona.
The 20-year old was in lack of time in Catalonia and has now decided to move away where he will play a key role for Rennes alongside Cameroonian centre-back Christopher Wooh.
“Stade Rennais F.C. and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of the great Senegalese hope of the 2004 generation. The central defender has signed up for a period of four seasons”, the club statemant reads.
Speaking after his signing, Faye said : “Stade Rennais is a great French club. It is renowned for knowing how to highlight young players like me. I am very proud to join Rennes.”
