The Confederation of African Football has chosen Egyptian official Amin Mohamed Omar, a FIFA referee since 2017, to officiate the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification match between Nigeria and Benin Republic next week.
The game on Matchday 1 is set to begin at 5 p.m. Nigeria time at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Omar will be facing a side led by former Nigerian manager Gernot Rohr, together with fellow countrymen Mahmoud Abouelregal (assistant referee 1), Ahmad Hossam Taha (assistant referee 2), and Ahmed ElGhandour (fourth official).

The three-time African champions are up against this team.
Bruno Labbadia, the new manager of Nigeria, will be baptised during the match.
Additionally, the CAF has named Munkaila Nassam Adam, a Ghanaian official, as commissioner; Senegalese official Fatou Gaye will act as referee assessor; and Ivorian Atte Claude Elloh will be the security officer.
