Guinea-Bissau kick started their AFCON 2025 Qualifiers with a slim 1-0 win against Eswatini at the Estádio 24 de Setembro on Thursday evening.

A goal in the 14th minute by Bau Noguiera gave the home team the slim victory in a game they dominated from the beginning to the last blast of the whistle.

For Eswatini who are regarded as underdog in the group, there is so much positivity the take from the game as they only conceded one goal.

The African Wild Dogs won to start their qualifying campaign, and when they play Mozambique on Tuesday in Maputo, they’ll be hoping to win two straight in Group I.

However, Sihlangu Semnikati will be nursing their wounds following a close loss in Bissau, and when they play Mali on Tuesday in Mbombela, South Africa, they will be looking to win their first game in Group I.
