The Super Eagles’ top goal, according to interim coach Augustine Eguavoen, is to win as many points as possible against Benin Republic.
In June, the Cheetahs defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 in an Abidjan 2026 World Cup qualifier.
At the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, the two teams will square off once more in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.

According to Eguavoen, the team’s main goal is to triumph and launch their qualifying campaign.
“Starting with the match against Benin Republic on Saturday, nobody is mentioning anything about revenge,” Eguavoen maintained.
“Our goal is three points, and then we aim for another three points in Kigali on Tuesday that will put us in good stead for qualification.”
