Willaim Troost-Ekong, a defender with the Super Eagles, thinks his team’s offensive prowess sets them apart from opponents.
Troost-Ekong said this following Nigeria’s thrilling 3-0 victory over Benin in the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday during the country’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Ademola Lookman’s brace and Victor Osimhen’s goal were plenty to give the Super Eagles a solid 3-0 victory and all three points.

Troost-Ekong stated during the news conference following the game that the team had great faith in Augustine Eguavoen, the interim head coach.
“We respected Benin the last time we played against them.
“Like I said, it was only yesterday we believed in ourselves and great belief in our coach.
“He’s like a family member who has come back to us now, and we knew we had to take responsibility now,” Troost-Ekong said.
He added: “I think with the attacking talent that we have, we don’t have to name them.
” I think everybody knows how dangerous we are.
” We try our best to shut the door at the back, and when we create chances, we tend to score.
“I have great belief that we gave the boys balls to score and they got them straight into the net.
“This is a good indication of the direction we are heading and the first step of many that we have to take to get to the AFCON [2025].”
