Team Nigeria took home seven medals in all at the end of this year’s competition; two gold, three silver, and two bronze.
In Africa, the Nigerian team finished fourth, behind Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco.
With six gold and five bronze, Algeria placed 25th overall, while Tunisia came in at position 27 with five gold, three silver, and three bronze.

On the last day, Folashade Oluwafemiayo won the gold medal in the women’s para-powerlifting, giving Team Nigeria its second gold medal.
In addition, she set two world records to win a second gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Nigerian athletes have participated in nine editions of the Paralympics since the 1992 Barcelona Games and have won medals in each of them.
With 94 gold, 76 silver, and 50 bronze medals, China led the final medal standings.
Great Britain came in second with 49 gold, 44 silver, and 31 bronze.
America came in third place with 36 gold, 42 silver, and 27 bronze medals.
