AFCON Traoré’s Brace Powers Burkina Faso to Victory Over Malawi

Burkina Faso secured an emphatic 3-1 win over Malawi in their AFCON qualifier, thanks to a stunning three-minute brace from Lassina Traoré and an additional strike from Hassane Bandé. The Stallions wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with Traoré lighting up the match early in the first half.

In the 35th minute, Traoré opened the scoring with a well-timed run and a clinical finish that left the Malawian defense scrambling. Barely three minutes later, he struck again, doubling Burkina Faso’s lead, leaving the Flames of Malawi shell-shocked.

Burkina Faso remained in control, and their relentless attacking play paid off once again when Hassane Bandé added a third goal in the 60th minute, putting the Stallions in a comfortable lead.

Despite the setback, Malawi fought back, managing to pull a goal back in the 80th minute.

Malawi tried to mount pressure late in the game, but Burkina Faso’s defense held strong, ensuring they walked away with all three points. The victory solidified Burkina Faso’s position in the qualifiers, while Lassina Traoré’s quickfire brace was the standout moment in a commanding performance.
