CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Confident Simba SC leave for Libya to face Al Ahli Tripoli

Simba SC left Tanzania on Tuesday for Libya ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup first-leg encounter against Al Ahli Tripoli.

Before their departure, the club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, informed reporters that four players currently with their national teams will join the squad after completing their respective international matches.

“We will travel via Turkey, where we will stay overnight before heading to Libya. By the 12th, all players will have arrived in Libya to resume training,” he said as quoted by Daily News.

Simba is set to face Al Ahli Tripoli in their first away match of the Confederation Cup on Sunday, September 15. Al Ahli Tripoli comes into the game following a dominant 5-0 aggregate victory against Zanzibar’s Uhamiaji FC, having won both home and away in their opening fixtures.

The Tanzanian giants are aiming for greater success this season in international competitions, following their recent exit in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

In preparation for the game, Simba played two friendly matches, drawing against Sudan’s giants Al Hilal and securing a 2-0 victory over JKT Tanzania.
