Former Ghana U17 coach and Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston, has been named the new head coach of RPS Academy in St. Lucie, Florida. The academy, known for its commitment to developing young talent, will benefit from Kingston’s wealth of experience, both as a player and a coach.
Kingston, who holds a UEFA License B coaching certificate, is well-versed in youth development and has a deep understanding of the Right to Dream model, a philosophy that blends education and sports to nurture holistic growth in young athletes. He is expected to bring this approach to the RPS Academy, guiding players not only in football but in their academic pursuits as well.
Speaking on his new appointment, Kingston expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I had other coaching opportunities, but this option is very good for me.” He added, “I feel very much at home working in an environment that combines education with sports.”
The former Hearts of Oak and Black Stars star’s appointment is seen as a significant step for RPS Academy, as they look to elevate their training programs and foster the next generation of football talent under Kingston’s leadership.
