CAF Pedro Gonçalves Expresses Disappointment Over Pitch Conditions in Ghana Despite Victory

Angola coach Pedro Gonçalves has expressed his disappointment over the state of the pitch on which his team played during their match against the Black Stars of Ghana. Despite securing a hard-fought victory, Gonçalves could not hide his concerns about the playing surface, which he felt was below the standards a footballing nation like Ghana should maintain.

In a post-match interview, Gonçalves commented, “I think a country like Ghana should have a better pitch.” He highlighted the importance of proper infrastructure in the development of the game, emphasizing that players should have access to top-tier facilities to bring out their best performances.

The Portugues praised his team’s ability to adapt and win despite the challenges posed by the pitch, but he remained critical of the conditions. Gonçalves believes that improving football infrastructure is essential for Ghana, a country with a rich football history, to maintain its status on the global stage.

The comments have since sparked conversations in football circles, with many calling for improvements in sports infrastructure across Ghana to support both local and international matches.
