At the Cape Town Stadium on Friday, Stellenbosch FC defeated AS Vita Club of the Democratic Republic of the Congo by two goals in the first twelve minutes of their African Confederation Cup second round first leg match.
Despite this, the team was unable to add additional goals to take a commanding lead into their return match the following weekend.
Their 2-0 victory at home maintains their winning start to the season, which has seen them advance to the MTN8 final and win six straight games.

Thabo Moloisane scored the opening goal from a corner to give Stellenbosch the perfect start.

But, Stellenbosch may still regret not winning by a greater margin when they travel to Kinshasa for the rematch on Sunday.
