CAF Champions League CAFCL: Rangers Claim Narrow Win Over Sagranca Esperanca

In the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, Nigerian champions Rangers International of Enugu defeated Sagranca Esperanca by a narrow victory.

To advance to the competition’s second round, the Flying Antelopes overcame US Zilimadjou of Comoros.

While playing in their chosen city of Uyo, the hosts controlled the game from the start and were unable to penetrate the opposition’s defence.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu must make the required adjustments to stop the Angolans’ assault line from getting stronger as the game progresses because the second half started in the same manner as the first.

In the 77th minute, substitute Kazeem Ogunleye broke the tie, giving the Nigerian team the game’s maximum victory.

Rangers will play the Esperanca in Angola in the second leg; the winner advances to the next round based on the aggregate score.
