Kaizer Chiefs have moved to secure the services of emerging starlet, Donay Jansen, for the next three seasons with the offer of an improved contract that will see the talented young wing-back remain at Naturena until the end of June 2027.
Jansen’s journey with Amakhosi began as a Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy player, where he honed his skills and showcased his potential in the youth ranks. His hard work and dedication paid off when he earned a promotion to the senior team during the course of last season.
Since being drafted into the senior team late in the campaign, where he made two noteworthy appearances, Jansen has been a dynamic presence in the squad, bringing flair, speed and creativity to the teams defending and attacking flank.
“The offer of a new contract to Donay is a clear indication of the Club’s faith in KCYDA’s potential. By extending Donay’s deal until 2027, we are not only securing his immediate future but also making a long-term investment in a player seen as crucial for the Club’s ambitions on the pitch. This move comes at a time when the Club is focused on building a competitive squad that can challenge other teams in both domestic and continental competitions in the near future,” said Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.
The 21-year-old Jansen expressed his gratitude towards the Club’s management and its coaching staff for the support he has received during his development and promotion to the first team.
He emphasised his excitement about continuing to grow with Kaizer Chiefs and contributing to the Club’s success.
