Kenya has been placed in group A of the Total Energies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U20 CECAFA qualifiers set to take place in Dar es Salaam from October 6-20, 2024.
The draw took place today Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Kenya has been drawn with hosts Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan and Djibouti.
Defending CECAFA champions Uganda will compete in Group A alongside last edition’s finalists South Sudan, Burundi, and Ethiopia.
The tournament will be played across three venues including Azam Complex, KMC Stadium and the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
The top two teams from each group will automatically advance to the semi-finals. Thereafter, the two finalists will earn the honor of representing the CECAFA region at the AFCON U20 tournament next year.
Group A: Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, Djibouti.
Group B: Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Ethiopia.
