APR FC’s head coach Darko Novic admitted that he expects a tough game against Egyptian out if Pyramids, but noted that APR has prepared for it.
The two teams will come up against each other on Saturday, September 14 at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, before a second-leg tie on September 20 in Egypt.
The Rwanda Premier League champions are well aware of the challenge ahead, as they were eliminated by Pyramids in last year’s qualifiers in a humbling 6-1 aggregate defeat.
“We are committed to giving our best. Our recent form, both in competitive and friendly matches, has been encouraging and indicates our readiness to perform well,” he said as quoted by Times Sport.
Each APR’ players stands to pocket $3000 (approximately Rwf4,000,000) if they manage to eliminate Pyramids and qualify for the next round of the CAF Champions League.
