African players abroad Victor Boniface Shines as Leverkusen Bounce Back with Victory

Victor Boniface delivered a standout performance as Bayer Leverkusen secured a crucial win, thanks to his brace and assist, helping the team claim maximum points in a 4-1 victory. After a frustrating defeat to RB Leipzig before the international break, Leverkusen were determined to bounce back and reignite their impressive form from the previous season.

From the start, Leverkusen looked sharp and aggressive, pushing forward with intent. Boniface, leading the line, was a constant threat to the opposing defense. His first goal came in the 31st minute after Terrier’s first goal for defending champions. The goal injected confidence into Leverkusen’s play after taking a two goal lead, and Boniface continued to torment the defense with his pace and physicality.

In the second half, also after a goal from Wirtz, the Nigerian forward doubled his tally putting Leverkusen in firm control of the match. Boniface’s influence didn’t stop there; he started off with a perfectly weighted assist, setting up his teammate for the furst goal that sparked the win.

In his response to his celebration Boniface dedicated it to a tiktok influencer back in Nigeria whom he promised that should he score he’ll celebrate with a tiktok trend right in front of his team fans.

“I didn’t want to provoke anyone, I did it in front of our fans. It’s a TikTok trend from a big influencer in Nigeria. I promised him I would celebrate like that, I just hadn’t scored yet!”. Boniface said.

Coach Xabi Alonso was full of praise for his side’s performance, highlighting their determination and the quality of their play. “The team showed great character today,” Alonso remarked.

With this victory, Leverkusen not only regained their momentum but also sent a strong message to the rest of the league that they are back on track and ready to challenge at the top once again.
