UEFA Champions League Raya’s heroics ensured the match ended in a 0-0 draw

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya produced an extraordinary double save to help his side secure a hard-fought draw against Atalanta. The Italian side looked poised to take the lead when a challenge by Thomas Partey on Atalanta’s Ederson near the left edge of the box resulted in a penalty, following a lengthy VAR check.

As tension mounted, Raya took a moment to consult Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach, Inaki Cana. The two Spaniards, exchanged a few quick words. Whatever advice was given, it paid off in spectacular fashion.

When the penalty was finally taken, Raya dove to his right, parrying the initial shot with an outstretched hand. As the ball rebounded dangerously back into play, he quickly reacted again to block the follow-up effort and keeping Arsenal’s hopes alive.

Raya’s heroics ensured the match ended in a 0-0 draw, securing a vital point for Arsenal in their return to Europe’s elite competition. The Gunners will look to build on this performance as they progress through the group stages.
