Women Football Dominant Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies March On with 11th Straight Win

There was no stopping Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in Saturday’s Hollywoodbets Super League match against JVW FC, as the red-hot Brazilians secured a 1-0 win over the Blue Diamonds.

Melinda Kgadiete’s goal in the 6th minute was enough to seal their 11th straight victory. Remarkably, it was their fifth consecutive clean sheet, their 16th overall and their 22nd win of the campaign.

Tiisetso Makhubela, who was pivotal in defense, reflected on the hard-fought match: “It was not an easy game and these are the kinds of fixtures where you need to capitalize on every opportunity. We hope to carry this momentum forward and stay sharp as we head into the next games. Our focus is on staying consistent and ensuring we keep building on these performances.”

Bambanani Mbane shared her thoughts on the victory: “We played well as a team because games against JVW are never easy. Remember, we drew our first game against them earlier this season, so we knew we had to be fully prepared. The weather conditions were challenging today, but we are happy with the way we handled the game and maintained our focus. It is always important to learn from past matches and I think we did that today.”

Banyana Ba Style has now accumulated 68 points this season, with an impressive 22 wins in 25 matches. They lead the league with 86 goals scored and have conceded only 12, boasting the league’s strongest defense.

Nthabiseng Majiya and Boitumelo Rabale remain at the top of Sundowns Ladies’ scoring chart with 12 goals each. Miche Minnies follows with nine goals, while Andisiwe Mgcoyi and Refilwe Tholakele are tied with seven strikes apiece. Lebohang Ramalepe has six goals for the season, while Melinda Kgadiete now has four to her name.

Salome Kekana, Asanda Hadebe, Zanele Madonsela and Karabo Dhlamini have each scored three goals, while Kholosa Biyana, Regina Mogolola and Rhoda Mulaudzi have netted two each. Cimone Sauls, Malebogo Shawe, Bambanani Mbane, Lehlogonolo Mashigo, Khunjulwa Mali, Karabo Makhurubetshi and Lelona Daweti have each found the back of the net once.
