Despite a narrow 1-0 victory over Coastal Union, Azam FC head coach Rachid Taoussi expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s performance, noting a lack of scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Azam celebrated their second consecutive win in the Premier League, thanks to a goal from Nassor Saadun, who found the net in the 9th minute at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.
This marked Saadun’s second goal in as many games, following his contribution in a 4-0 victory against KMC in their previous game, as the Chamazi-based side begins to regain form in the league.
“I’m not happy because we didn’t create many chances and we struggled to win second balls as the game progressed,” Taoussi said as quoted by Daily News.
“I believe fatigue played a role, we only had 48 hours to recover after our previous match instead of the ideal 72 hours. Some players looked tired after playing just two days earlier. Still, the most important thing is that we secured the three points.”
Taoussi remains unbeaten since taking charge of Azam, guiding the team to two wins in his first three matches, a promising start for the Moroccan coach.
