Tanzania Young Africans make it two wins out of two after downing KenGold

A towering header from Young Africans centre-back Ibrahim Bacca in the 13th minute secured his side a narrow 1-0 victory over KenGold at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya in the ongoing Mainland Premier League.

This win marks Yanga’s second triumph of the ongoing league campaign, bringing their points total to six from two matches.In contrast, KenGold suffered their fifth consecutive defeat, struggling to adapt to the demands of the top-flight league.

Just two minutes into the match, KenGold goalkeeper Castor Mhagama made two crucial saves, preventing the visitors from taking an early lead.However, in the 13th minute, Bacca connected powerfully with a well delivered set-piece from Stephanie Aziz Ki, propelling Yanga ahead.

The goal ignited a series of attacks from Miguel Gamondi’s side, who sought to extend their lead.Despite their efforts, KenGold’s defense held firm, repelling further threats.

A thunderous strike from Clement Mzize in the 41st minute was expertly saved by Mhagama, marking Yanga’s last attempt of the first half.

After the break, Yanga continued to dominate. Their best chance came in the 59th minute, when Maxi Nzengeli’s shot was punched to safety by Mhagama.

KenGold nearly equalised in the 84th minute, but Helbert Lukindo’s close-range header narrowly missed the target, keeping the scoreline intact.
