Tanzania Fadlu Davids delighted with Simba SC’s derby win against Azam FC

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has commended his charges for high-pressing tactics against Azam that helped them produce a convincing 2-0 win at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on Thursday.

Newly signed Cameroonian striker, Leonel Ateba and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) import, Fabrice Ngoma scored in each half of the match to hand their team a sweet away win.

It was Simba’s third straight win of the campaign, and they have generated nine points and netted nine goals without conceding a convincing start for them.

“For sure, it means a lot to win a derby, and we analysed well our game plan…the first half was good and in terms of our pressing traps, it really went well,” said the South African coach as quoted by Daily News.

“I think we should have scored two to three goals, and I was interested to see how long we would be able to keep the intensity of the match just three days after playing against Al Ahly Tripoli.

“In the second half, we started to get tired, which is why I made triple substitutions, but the boys fought well and do not forget that we have another game on Sunday.”
