The FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals this year will take place in the Dominican Republic, and Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has selected his 21-woman Flamingo squad, which includes Captain Taiwo Afolabi and forwards Harmony Chidi and Peace Effiong.
The squad, who placed third in the last championship in India, barnstormed their way past the Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, and Liberia in the continental campaign, with 13 of the team’s record-breaking 25 goals coming from the clinical Chidi.
Shakirat Moshood, Ayomide Rotimi, Faridat Abdulwahab, and petite midfielder Afolabi will dominate the midfield, while Sylvia Echefu and Elizabeth Boniface will constantly challenge first-choice goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma to perform at her peak.
