Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 904tj career goal as Al Nassr win 2-1 against Al Rayyan at Al Awwal Park on Matchday 2 of the 2024–25 AFC Champions League Elite on his father’s birthday and dedicated his goal to him.
Sadio Mané had opened the scoring, and Ronaldo, who did not play in Al Nassr’s AFC Champions League debut, found the net in the second half of the match with an assist from Abdulrahman Ghareeb.
In the first half, the striker squandered many good opportunities and had a goal disallowed for offside.

Ronaldo in his post-match interview said; “I feel sad that my father can’t see what I have reached in my life.”
Ronaldo has participated in ten AFC Champions League Elite games.
He has played in nine games thus far in the competition, scoring seven goals and dishing out two assists.
Al Nassr, though, lost the competition in the quarterfinals the previous season.
Just before halftime, Mane gave the stadium’s Al Nassr supporters great joy by scoring the first goal of the game with an amazing header.
For the majority of the match, Stefano Pioli’s team was in control, but Roger Guedes cut the lead soon after Ronaldo scored the second goal in the 76th minute.
With Luis Castro still serving as head coach, Al Nassr’s 1-1 draw with Al Shorta resulted in just one point for the team on Matchday 1.
The team has now scored three more points under Pioli, and they occupy the third position in the Group B standings.
