Ugandan Premier League beside Vipers SC have announced the addition and return of John Luyinda alias Ayala as an assistant coach.
Luyinda joins in to beef up the technical bench manned by Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazovic and the other assistants, Fred Muhumuza, Daniel Maale and Jose Esdras Costa Lopez.
Luyinda brings in a wealth of experience, having previously worked in the Uganda Premier League in coaching roles at Wakiso Giants FC, KCCA FC, Police FC and Vipers where he served as assistant to Abdallah Mubiru in 2016.
His most recent role was at Wakiso Giants where he served as head coach for two seasons. In Wakiso, he was recorginsed and appreciated for his free-flowing tiki-taka style of play.
He has worked with some of the finest coaches in the country including Mubiru, George ‘Best’ Nsimbe and Mike Mutebi, among others.Luyinda is expected to bolster the team’s performances and results after an indifferent start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season.
Vipers have won, drawn and lost one apiece this season, and subsequently sit fifth with four points. We suffered a 3-1 defeat to NEC FC, beat Express FC 3-0, before a barren stalemate with Lugazi FC.
