In the Champions League group stage on Wednesday, Lille stunned the reigning champion Real Madrid team 1-0 at home thanks to a first-half penalty, snapping their 14-game winning streak.
The European Cup winners have won 15.
After 36 games without a loss in all competitions, Real Madrid suffered their first loss since January when Jonathan David converted from the penalty three minutes into first-half stoppage time.
After two games under the new format of Europe’s top club championship, Lille now leads with three points. Real is currently on three points as well.

When Edon Zhegrova’s free kick was handled by Eduardo Camavinga in stoppage time, their unrelenting pressure paid reward.
Following a VAR review, David expertly converted the ensuing penalty.
In the second half, the hosts kept up the pressure, refusing to let Real enjoy control and severing England midfielder Jude Bellingham’s supply.
Ancelotti substituted Mbappe and Luka Modric for Endrick and Eder Militao, and Lille managed to hold off a late Real Madrid assault to secure the victory.
