Ivory Coast AFCON 2025Q: Injury Rock Ivory Coast Camp As Diallo Withdraws

Ivory Coast forward Amad Diallo, has withdrawn from the Ivory Coast team for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader against Sierra Leone because of illness, the Premier League team announced on Wednesday.

In his country’s victories against Zambia and Chad last month, Diallo, 22, was included in the starting lineup for the first time since March 2023 for their first two qualifying matches.

Joining Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho, English midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, and Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui as the fourth United player taken off of international duty this week is Diallo.

Sierra Leone will play Ivory Coast at home on Friday and away from home on Tuesday.

Ivory Coast won the previous Africa Cup of Nations in February while serving as hosts.
