Orlando Pride have won the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Shield for the first time in their history and in Barbra Banda’s first season at the Orlando based club.
The Shield is awarded to the team that has the best overall record in the NWSL standings, and Pride are winners with 57 unassailable points, and three games to spare.
Copper Queens forward Barbra Banda has contributed 13 goals and six assists in 19 matches. Overall, Pride are unbeaten in 23 matches, winning 17 and drawing six games in the regular season.
The club has also recognized Copper Queens midfielder Grace Chanda who signed with the club in May 2024 but is yet to play a game due to injury.
Pride will now be among the eight NWSL teams that will fight for the championship after the end of the regular season, and Banda and company will be hoping to add to their first silverware of the season.
