A doubleheader win over Libya will put them ahead of the competition and get them one step closer to qualifying.

Nigeria and Libya will play each other for the fifth time; in the four previous meetings, including two matches during the 2018 AFCON qualifiers, the Super Eagles have prevailed.

Libya’s first AFCON qualifying match ended in a 1-1 draw with Rwanda, and their second match ended in a 2-1 loss to Benin.

Libya last participated in the continental showpiece back in 2012, but with just one point at the bottom of Group D, they will need to improve rapidly if they hope to advance.
