AFCON AFCON Qualifiers: Morocco Host Central African Republic.

The AFCON Qualifiers continue tonight as Group B leaders Morocco welcome the Central African Republic (CAR) to Honor Stadium in Oujda at 19:00 GMT. The North African giants will aim to solidify their position at the top of the table with a win, while the visitors are determined to pull off an upset and follow in the footsteps of Comoros, who shocked Tunisia yesterday.

A victory for CAR would lift them to second place in the group, giving them a much-needed boost and keeping their qualification hopes alive. With only a few games left in the qualifiers, both sides understand the importance of tonight’s result.

Morocco will rely heavily on their attacking duo, Brahim Diaz and Hakim Ziyech, who have each netted two goals so far in the campaign. The pair will look to continue their impressive form as they aim to unlock CAR’s defense and secure three crucial points.

However, the Atlas Lions will be without full-back Noussair Mazraoui, who recently underwent surgery. His absence could affect their defensive structure, but head coach Walid Regragui will be hoping his squad depth can compensate.

On the other side, the Central African Republic will pin their hopes on star midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, whose creativity and leadership will be crucial in breaking through Morocco’s defense. If CAR can earn a win, they will jump to second in the group, intensifying the race for qualification.

In their four previous encounters, Morocco have emerged victorious twice, with the other two matches ending in draws. This solid track record gives the North Africans confidence going into the clash. However, CAR will look to change the narrative tonight, motivated by the unpredictable nature of this year’s qualifiers.

With both teams eager for victory, the game promises to be a thrilling encounter. Morocco will look to control possession and play on the front foot, while CAR might opt for a more cautious approach, relying on counter-attacks led by Kondogbia.

All eyes will be on Oujda this evening as the two sides battle for crucial points in their quest for a place in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations. Will Morocco extend their lead, or can the Central African Republic pull off a surprise and move closer to qualification? The answers will unfold under the bright lights at 19:00 GMT.
