AFCON Super Eagles Receive Commendation From President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu extends his sincere gratitude for the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s safe return to Nigeria, having been severely affected by the inhumane treatment they received at a Libyan airport.

The Nigerian Football Federation decided to remove the Super Eagles from the scheduled encounter on Tuesday due to the terrifying experience the national football team had at the hands of their hosts and the Libyan government.

President Tinubu anticipates that the CAF will carry out a comprehensive inquiry and suggest suitable sanctions for individuals who intentionally breached the organization’s rules and regulations.

The Nigerian president sees the treatment of our citizens as cruel and unsportsmanlike, which stands in sharp contrast to the spirit of the game he really admires.

He also acknowledges the unifying effect of football in bringing people and nations together.

He strongly urges administrators and all fans of the round-leather game to band together and collaborate in order to stop and overcome similar incidents in the future.
