The Amavubi of Rwanda defeated Benin Republic 2-1 in Kigali to rekindle their hope of securing a ticket to nexy year’s Africa Nations Cup in Morocco.
After picking a draw in their first two games against Libya and Nigeria, Rwanda suffered a 3-0 defeat to Benin Republic on Matchday 3 .
The hosts were stunned in the 42nd minute when Hountondji scored to give Benin Republic the lead.

However, Innocent Nshuti levelled matters for Rwanda in the 70th minute.
Five minutes later, Djihan Bizimana’s 75th minute goal sealed the victory for the Amavubi as they kept their qualification hopes alive.
The victory significantly improves Rwanda’s fighting chance of a qualification with just a point separating them from Benin who are behind Group D leaders, Nigeria.
