African players abroad Thomas Partey Fit to Return for Arsenal’s Clash with Bournemouth

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that midfielder Thomas Partey is fit and available for selection ahead of this weekend’s Premier League match against Bournemouth. The Ghanaian international missed out on international duty during the recent break, with reports stating that he was sidelined due to illness. However, Arteta has assured fans that Partey has fully recovered and is ready to make his return.

“Thomas is fit and ready to go,” Arteta told reporters during his pre-match press conference. “He wasn’t available for Ghana due to illness, but he’s been training well with us, and we’re pleased to have him back in the squad.”

Partey’s absence from the Ghana squad during the crucial AFCON qualifiers sparked some concerns, as the midfielder has struggled with injuries in the past. However, his swift recovery comes as a major boost for Arsenal, who are looking to maintain their strong start to the Premier League campaign.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for the Gunners, both in midfield and in a hybrid right-back role this season, offering Arteta tactical flexibility. His availability gives the Arsenal manager more options as the team prepares to navigate a busy schedule.

Facing Bournemouth away at the Vitality Stadium, Arsenal will hope Partey’s return adds stability and control in midfield. His presence could also ease the load on Declan Rice, allowing the team to play with greater balance.

With Partey back in contention, Arteta is expected to field a strong lineup as Arsenal aim to continue their momentum.
