Nigeria WAFU U U20: Zubairu Impressed With Flying Eagles Spirit Against Niger

After the Flying Eagles rallied to defeat Niger Republic 3-1 in their semi-final match at the WAFU B U-20 Championship, head coach Aliyu Zubairu praised the players’ great spirit.

On Wednesday, the Flying Eagles will play the Black Satellites of Ghana in the competition final.

Additionally, they have guaranteed a spot in the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, which South Africa will host.

“I commend the boys, they showed real character to fight back and win the match, it was the same way they did against Cote d’Ivoire,” Zubairu said in his post-match reaction.

“We were disappointed when we lost to Burkina Faso in our opening game, but we have since bounced back to top reckoning.”
