Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has provided an update on the squad ahead of their weekend fixture against Ipswich. Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Cooper revealed that Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will miss the match due to a groin injury. He also missed the match against Manchester United.
The Foxes endured a frustrating night at Old Trafford, ultimately falling short in a spirited contest. Reflecting on the game, Cooper noted, “We’ve had a really good morning’s work. Through the frustration and annoyance of how the game went, it’s been turned into a positive motivation for the next game, and that’s where we’re at.”
Despite the setback, Cooper emphasized the team’s adaptability and resilience as they look forward to their next league fixture. Addressing the impact of Issahaku’s injury and the other enforced changes to the lineup, he said, “Abdul was not available for the game through a groin [issue]. We had a few enforced changes , but just because we went one way in the last match, doesn’t mean we won’t go a certain way at the weekend.”
The Foxes are now focused on regrouping, with Issahaku’s recovery a top priority as Leicester aims to continue their strong league form.
