Atalanta’s performance in the away victory over Napoli was impressive, according to Ademola Lookman.

Sunday afternoon’s Serie A match saw Gian Piero Gasperini’s team defeat the league leaders 3-0.

Lookman, who scored twice, and substitute Matteo Retegui both contributed to the victory.

They may be satisfied with their performance in the game, according to the Nigerian international.

“We’re proud of the team’s strong performance,” he told DAZN, adding that it’s never easy to lose by three points to the leaders.

Lookman, who was in Paris earlier this week for the Ballon d’Or event, finished in 14th position, partly because of his hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League Final.

The winger stated that continuing to support the team comes before personal recognition.

“Individual achievements are part of football, but this is a team game, my squad helps me a lot. I continue working and try to help the team when I can,” he added.
