The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a substantial prize boost for the CAF Women’s Champions League Morocco 2024. Each of the eight participating clubs will receive a minimum of USD 150,000 in prize money just for taking part in the competition. This increase aims to foster competitiveness and growth in women’s football across Africa.

Under the leadership of Dr. Patrice Motsepe, CAF has been committed to elevating women’s football, including establishing the Women’s Champions League in 2021. This year, the prize pool has seen a 52% increase, now reaching USD 2,350,000, underscoring CAF’s dedication to enhancing the appeal of the tournament and supporting the development of the sport.

The prize distribution for the tournament is as follows:

Winner: USD 600,000

Runner-up: USD 400,000

3rd Place: USD 350,000

4th Place: USD 300,000

3rd in Group Stage: USD 200,000 each

4th in Group Stage: USD 150,000 each

CAF’s broader objectives, spearheaded by President Motsepe, include increasing investment in youth academies for both boys and girls. By allocating higher prize funds across its competitions, CAF aims to make African football, particularly the women’s leagues, more globally competitive and attractive to fans and players alike.
