AFCON Jordan Ayew to Captain Ghana for November AFCON Qualifiers Against Angola and Niger

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has officially announced that Jordan Ayew will wear the captain’s armband for the national team in the November international window. This decision comes as Ghana gears up for crucial 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

With senior captains Andre Ayew and Thomas Partey both absent from the latest squad list, Ayew steps up to lead the Black Stars as they seek to secure their place in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Addo expressed full confidence in Ayew’s ability to guide the team through these important qualifiers, emphasizing that Ayew’s dedication to the Black Stars, along with his on-field influence, will be key to rallying the team. With the support of a blend of young talents and seasoned players, Ayew is ready to take on this responsibility and lead Ghana’s quest for AFCON qualification.

“I have decided to appoint a new captain, which will be Jordan,” Addo explained. “I spoke to Kudus to help him understand that I want him to grow into this role and serve as the second captain alongside Djiku.” explained at the squad naming.

“Jordan will take over from now, and he will lead and guide the team.” Otto Addo added.

Ghanaian fans eagerly anticipate seeing Ayew’s impact as captain, hoping his leadership can steer the Black Stars to success in this qualification campaign.
