Andrés Iniesta now owns a club in Denmark

Andrés Iniesta is already making a comeback in football. After retiring last month, the 2010 World Cup winner with Spain told newspaper Helsingør Dagblad and Danish broadcaster TV 2 that he had bought the majority of shares in FC Helsingør with his company Never Say Never, in collaboration with Swiss company Stoneweg.

“We started working with Helsingør because it is an incredibly exciting club, with very good facilities, a lot of good people in and around the club and the potential in the city to become an important part of Danish football,” he said.

In September, Bo Bay Hougaard – the Danish second division club’s director – told Bold that the club was hoping to bring in the FC Barcelona legend and his teammates as investors after the former midfielder’s company has entrusted them with sports consultancy since last spring. Also according to Danish media, Iniesta and Stoneweg CEO Jaume Sabate will be present at the game between FC Helsingør (7th) and Ishøj IF (11th) this Friday night.
