CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Al Masry Share Point With Wasteful Enyimba

Enyimba’s penultimate group match of the current CAF Confederations Cup ended in a 1-1 tie with Al Masry after they were unable to convert their chances.

Mohamed Hashem’s brilliant goal in the eighth minute gave the visiting team the lead, putting the Peoples Elephants behind the curve from the off.

Before the ball was flipped into the box, Hashem went untouched after Al Masry won a corner kick that was swiftly taken with a short pass.

The Nigerian team’s situation worsened when the 29-year-old defender went home to put his team ahead.

Atule made an attempt in the 21st minute, but it went over the bar as Enyimba stepped up their speed in an attempt to equalise.

The Egyptian team led both teams at the half, but it only took two minutes for them to come back before Enyimba equalised by a brilliant header from Ifeanyi Ihemekwele that made it 1-1.

Even though the Aba-based team kept trying to win, they were unable to do so, and after ninety minutes the score was 1-1.
