CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: CS Constantine Beat Bottom Team CS Sfaxien To Reach Quarterfinals

With a commanding 3-0 victory over Tunisian team CS Sfaxien at the Hamlaoui Stadium on Sunday, CS Constantine sealed their spot in the quarterfinals.

In the 31st and 71st minutes, Zakaria Ben Chaa scored a brace, and in stoppage time, replacement Mondher Tamine added a late third.

Ben Chaa and Dhib worked well together, and the Algerian team took the lead when Chaa coolly slotted the ball past Sfaxien custodian Dahman.

The finest opportunity for Sfaxien came early in the second half when custodian Bouhalfaya stopped Basha’s effort.

The team struggled to generate clear-cut chances.

After a clean exchange with Dhib, Ben Chaa took advantage of a defensive blunder to finish with accuracy, doubling Constantine’s lead.

In extra time, Tamine scored the game-winning goal on his own after dribbling past the Tunisian defence and burying the ball in the goal.

With 12 points, Constantine now leads Group 1, while Sfaxien is still at the bottom with zero points.
